Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026. HolidaySync is committed to your privacy. We collect no personal information and store your preferences only in your own browser.

1. What We Collect

HolidaySync does not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII). We do not require you to create an account, provide your name, email address, or any other personal data to use the service.

The only data we receive is anonymous usage analytics through Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which we use to understand how visitors interact with HolidaySync so we can improve the service. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users.

In short: We do not know who you are. We only see anonymous aggregate data about how many people visit, which pages they view, and what browser/country they're from.

2. Cookies

HolidaySync uses a minimal set of cookies:

  • Google Analytics 4 cookies — GA4 sets cookies (prefixed _ga) to distinguish users and sessions for anonymous analytics reporting. These cookies do not contain personal information and expire after 13 months (GA4 default).

We do not set any first-party cookies ourselves. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or session cookies beyond what GA4 requires for anonymous analytics.

Third-party advertising networks displayed on some pages of HolidaySync (excluding this Privacy Policy page and the Terms of Service page) may set their own cookies. See the Advertising section below for details.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not affect your ability to use HolidaySync's core features, but anonymous analytics reporting may be affected.

3. Third-Party APIs

HolidaySync fetches data from two external APIs to power the calendar. These requests are made directly from your browser and no personal data is transmitted:

  • Nager.at Public Holidays API (date.nager.at) — provides public holiday data for 90+ countries. Requests include only the country code and year you select. No personal information is transmitted. Subject to Nager.at's terms.
  • nameday.abalin.net (nameday.abalin.net) — provides nameday data for European regions. Requests include only the date and country code. No personal information is transmitted. Subject to nameday.abalin.net's terms.

All data returned by these APIs is processed client-side in your browser and is never forwarded to HolidaySync's servers.

Catholic feast day data is computed entirely locally using a JavaScript algorithm — no external API is called for this data.

4. Local Storage

HolidaySync uses your browser's localStorage to save your calendar preferences between visits. This data is stored entirely on your own device and is never sent to our servers or any third party. Stored preferences may include:

  • Your selected country for public holidays
  • Selected nameday region(s)
  • Whether the Catholic liturgical calendar is enabled
  • Any advanced multi-country selections you have made

You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data or localStorage for holidaysync.getinfotoyou.com. Clearing this data will reset your calendar to its default state.

5. Advertising

HolidaySync displays advertisements on some pages (not on this Privacy Policy page or the Terms of Service page) provided by third-party advertising networks. These networks may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve relevant advertisements and measure ad performance.

Third-party ad networks we may use include networks from ProfitableRateCPM and HighPerformanceFormat. These networks have their own privacy policies that govern how they collect and use data. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party services.

You can opt out of interest-based advertising through your browser's privacy settings, the NAI opt-out tool at optout.networkadvertising.org, or the DAA opt-out tool at optout.aboutads.info.

HolidaySync does not share your personal data with advertisers because we do not collect personal data.

6. Your Rights

Because HolidaySync does not collect personal data, most data rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are not directly applicable. However:

  • GDPR (EU/EEA residents) — You have the right to request information about data processed about you. Since we only process anonymous analytics data that cannot identify you individually, there is no personal data to access or erase. For GA4 data, you may refer to Google's GDPR controls.
  • CCPA (California residents) — We do not sell personal information because we do not collect personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
  • UK GDPR — The same principles as EU GDPR apply to UK residents.

7. Children's Privacy

HolidaySync is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our service, please contact us immediately at getinfotoyou@gmail.com.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of HolidaySync after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

We encourage you to review this page periodically. Material changes will be noted prominently.
